Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does Frontend Mentor for Teams work?

The first step is to create a team account. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a dashboard where you can purchase seats. Once you’ve purchased your seats, you can start filling them with your team members (“learners”). Learners must create an account on Frontend Mentor (if they haven’t done so already). You can then add them to your team using their email address or Frontend Mentor username. From your dashboard, you can assign challenges and learning paths, follow your team’s latest activity, and open each learner’s profile to see their progress and solutions.

  • What can I see about each learner?

Your dashboard shows your team’s latest activity and stats for each learner: challenges completed, comments given, and learning paths finished. Open a learner’s profile to see their progress, the difficulty levels they’ve reached, their solutions, and their achievements. From any of their solutions, you can read the AI code review to see strengths, weaknesses, and suggested improvements.

  • How do the AI code reviews work for my team?

Every solution your learners submit gets an AI code review with line-level findings, scored against the challenge brief. Reviews cover best practices, architecture, accessibility, testing, file organization, commit quality, and README quality. You can read every review by opening a solution from a learner’s profile, which makes it much easier to spot skill gaps and build a development plan for each learner.

  • Do you offer discounts for registered nonprofits and charities?

Yes! We aim to help people become confident, competent developers through project-based learning and community. If you’re a registered nonprofit or charity helping people learn to code, we’d love to offer you a discount on our team offering. Please contact [email protected] for further information.

  • Do you offer discounts for state/government-funded schools?

Yes! If you’re a publicly funded school looking to incorporate project-based learning into your coding curriculum, please contact [email protected] for more information on educational discounts.

  • How does billing work?

Our subscriptions are invoiced yearly. If you add members to your team within a billing cycle, you’ll pay a pro-rata amount for the new seats. Once the yearly billing renewal arrives, you’ll be charged full price for all active seats. This ensures a single bill each year for your whole team’s renewal.

  • Do you offer a free trial?

We don’t offer free trials. Our premium challenges and design files can be downloaded right away, so a traditional trial doesn’t work for us. Instead, here’s the approach we recommend: have one of your learners create a free Frontend Mentor account and take on a free challenge. Their first submission includes a free AI code review, so you can sit down together, look at their solution and the review, and decide whether it’s a good fit for your team. If you have any questions while evaluating, contact us at [email protected].

  • Does the subscription auto-renew?

Our team subscriptions auto-renew at the end of their term. You can easily manage your subscription by going to Settings > Billing. We send you an email reminder before your subscription renews to ensure you don’t get caught out.

  • Do you offer refunds?

We offer a "fair use" refund policy within 14 days of starting your first team subscription. Fair use means that if your team downloads one or two premium assets (designs, premium challenges) and decides it’s not for them, we’re happy to process a refund. After all, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase! But we reserve the right to say no if they’ve downloaded three or more premium assets before you request a refund. To request a refund, email [email protected] within 14 days of starting your team subscription. If you’re unsure whether or not project-based learning through Frontend Mentor will suit your team, we recommend a member of your team try a free or free+ challenge first so you have more information on how the platform works.

  • Can I add/remove seats as needed?

Yes! You can purchase additional seats whenever you like. New seats are charged pro rata based on your team’s annual billing cycle. If you don’t need a seat, you can remove it so you’re only billed for active seats when your subscription renews.

  • How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscription by going to Settings > Billing. From there, you can schedule a cancellation to prevent it from renewing.

  • What happens when my subscription expires?

All team members will lose their Pro access on Frontend Mentor, and we remove all seats from your team. If you want to add new members once your subscription has expired, you can purchase new seats to start a new subscription.
